Interactive Visual Music, a new audiovisual format between a music-video and a video-game.
Descripción
The Dub A.R.T. (Artistic Recreative Technology) system is a new audiovisual format where users became artists creating their own dub versions or remixes of a music (released with the tracks still separate) like playing a video-game, interacting visually with the VIM* animation sprites of each instrument (* Visual Interpretation of Music, see https://sebastiafreixa.com/en/vim/).
Interactive Visual Music: "the music video game"
For everyone:
The so called users (now artists) can interact with the moving agents (instruments or musicians or tracks) and:
- change volumes and left-right panoramics (by dragging them on the stage),
- mute/unmute agents (using buttons or pressing keyboard numbers) and
- put/remove effects (using the FX 'weapons').
This 'new version/remix' can be done Live (eg. showing the 'game' playing on a big screen) and it can also be Recorded, previewed, edited, saved, reproduced and shared with others. Coming soon also to gather views and likes in a social net of dub artists. Everyone can became a dub artist without needing to learn music or sound engineering!
For musicians and producers:
This new format is a new way to publish music, a new "Interactive Visual Music" format which is both a Music-video and a Video-game. The tracks of each instrument (musician or 'agent') are still separate and each one is linked to a visual track (animation sprite/character or a video track with alpha channel*) which represents visually each note of the agent audio, and they play in sync. The basic setting is simply a Loop with various layers/tracks.
If the user don't interact with the agents, the song tracks can play together with predefined mix versions offered by the studio producers or musicians, like a music-video clip. Producers can release a main version mix (or 'radio version') and alternate 'dub' versions, remixes, extended or shorter versions, etc.
Thanks:
This software is coming to reality thanks to the great FOSS tools: Tonejs, Createjs, jQuery, DataTables, CouchDB, Wordpress, Polylang.
